Vintage Radio/Emergency Beacon



Hi all, this is special and vintage military radio. This radio often to be a lifesaver for pilot if they manage to survive from helicopter crash. This equipment known as Sarbe 5 (Search And Rescue Beacon). When activated, the unit transmits a continuous internationally recognised swept-tone radio distress signals in the UHF or VHF aviation frequency band. It also provide two-way voice communication between the survivor and approaching rescuers. Built in 'test' facilities allow a simple confidence check to be carried out for correct functioning of the unit and the battery state.
The Sarbe is waterproof to a depth of 10m (33Ft)and the battery has an unused shelf life of 5 years when stored in continuous temperate conditions.That's all, for the Vintage Radios Review. and i, will bring much more enjoyable info,s for next reviews, See you all guys, 73

Hi....maybe this is a bit of a late reply but I am looking for a SARBE 5 battery. Any ideas where I can purchase one from?

Hi Gary, I'm also try on Internet,no luck, i had it before but sadly, all the battery, had bad corrosion,and leak.I'm also like to have any Military related Radios, if you have any info, do contacted me, ok, Thanks, I hope you will get it someday.Who knows...
